Trivia[]
- "High on Life (Location)|High on Life]]" is also the name of a store within the game owned by the G3. One franchise location can be found in the Blim City Slums.
- The story of High On Life is about a species realizing that they are being used as a drug by another species. This is similar to the storyline for the Oddworld games in which a species, The Mudokons, discover that they are being turned into a snack food by another race. The game Oddword: Strangers Wrath features a similar "sentient guns and ammo" concept as High On life. The art style of the two games is also similar and referential of Jim Henson's work.
- A running gag within High On Life appears to be "comic" racism perpetrated against Italians. When the aliens attack during the opening scene of the game, the player can observe their neighbor preparing to fight back against the aliens. The neighbor's wife pleads with him to stop, ultimately blaming it on his being Italian. She then precedes to address the player and tell them not to marry an [expletive] Italian. She says that it may be racist but that she does not care. She says that she cannot wait to divorce him so that she can quit eating spaghetti every night. Later in the game, the player encounters an Italian restaraunt labeled "Little Shitaly" and several characters in the game are racial stereotypes of Italians, such as the Skrendel Brothers and the Mackincheese Brothers.
