Translator microbes are an alien technology in High On Life. Basically they are a microscopic machines that obviously rearrange parts of the brain, so it can understand alien language.

The Protagonist receives these micorbes from Kenny shortly after picking him up in the introduction of the game.

They are highly contagious, and after Kenny spat his slime into the player character's face, soon it is also possible for the protagonist's sister, Lizzie, to understand the aliens (presumably after getting covered in blood when killing a Merk).

Trivia[]

  • The microbes are a parody to the Babel Fish from The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.
  • An alien named Gary believes that the microbes are dangerous, including writing "Don't Trust Translator Microbes!!" on a wall, Gary can actually be found behind the house in Blim City to give you a "side quest" to go into the sewers and poison the water.
